I find it hard to believe that the faculty and alumni can't muster some funds to pay interpreters. Even if they can't, it is rediculous to expect the univ to supply free interpreting services. Perhaps some of those who support the protest including parents, faculty, alums, etc should step up and provide terp service.

I am a alumni of 1972 and am proud of my relationship with the college. I am sick of the display i see unfolding on campus over the mass media. The students are acting like spoled children and deserve to be treated like children .
Gallaudet is a public funded college and has to go to congress to ask for money to continue operation. When the college moves into the community and aprocahed corporatsions and individuals for contribution what do you think their response might be due to unlawful behaviour such as that which has been going on on campus.
My advice to students is back off and to adminstration send the leaders of the protest home .I am as deaf as you may want to be and i dont support this shut up and get back into class and the process of learning.

I highly doubt the protestors, FSSA, or Alumni have the money to afford GIS terps. Most of the money they've collected have gone to food and supplies related to keeping the protest going.

Yes, they want Gallaudet to pay for their attacks against Gallaudet and Gallaudet simply says "pay as everyone else does". They have been seeking donations. What are they using that money for? Lobster bisque or band aids for those 'injured' when the campus police had to go in to check a bomb threat?

I think they want the university to pay for the interpreters for their cause. They refused to pay them and from what I understand, they want interpreters to be paid.
